About Us
Myatt Garden Primary School is situated towards the north of the London borough of Lewisham, between Deptford and New Cross, in a densely populated inner-city area. We are a two-form entry school with 60 children in each year group and 60 nursery places.
We are all very proud of our vibrant school which has a diverse population, with children coming from many different countries and speaking over 25 different languages. This helps to make it a special place where we all value our similarities and differences and learn from each other.
The school provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment where all children are challenged to fulfil their potential and are active participants in their learning. The school encourages care and respect for one another and encourages all pupils to have a voice.
We have a topic-based curriculum which is brought alive with regular trips and visitors. Art is a very important part of our curriculum and we are proud to have achieved the Artsmark Gold award three times.
The school is one building, with the infants and juniors divided by dining rooms and assembly hall. The nursery is located in a separate block. In addition, we have an adjacent house where we have a series of group rooms used by our learning mentor, musicians and learning support assistants.
The school is set in pleasant grounds which have a mature terrace, two playgrounds, games area, a quiet area, a grassed play area with climbing frames, and an allotment.
