Myatt Garden Primary School

Personal, Social & Health Education (PSHE)

PSHE forms part of everything we do at Myatt Garden and is closely linked to our school rules of Ready, Respectful, Safe.

Our PSHE education programme reflects our school ethos, demonstrating and encouraging the following values:

  • respect for self;
  • respect for others;
  • responsibility for our own actions;
  • responsibility for our family, friends, school and the wider community.

Through PSHE, children develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to keep themselves healthy and safe, and to be prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

Each class has discrete PSHE lessons and circle times, where teachers and children explore issues relevant to the class. In addition, regular assemblies are used to reinforce the PSHE curriculum.

We give children an insight into the world of work through our aspiration assemblies. Here, parents and other adults in our community share what they love about their job, the skills they use and possible career routes. If you would be interested in talking to the children about your work, please get in touch!

Our PSHE curriculum has three strands which run throughout each year group; see here for full details: PSHE Strands
