Myatt Garden Primary School

Information for Families: 29.4.22

School Dinners
This term we have a new Spring-Summer Lunch Menu  which is going well so far.

After-school Clubs
We will be writing to you next week with information about after-school clubs. Sadly, we will have a reduced offer this term as post-covid there are far less people available to run clubs as their commitments have changed.

As part of our successful bid from the London Borough of Culture, Irie! African Dance and Drumming, started a 5-week project with our Year 4’s today. Over a series of workshops, they will be working towards a performance for our Summer Festival on Saturday 25th June, which will be a celebration of our community and its diversity.  Please put the date in your diary.

Parent Governor Elections
Governors play a really important role in the strategic leadership of the school.  As a school Myatt Garden has benefitted greatly from a committed group of hard-working volunteers contributing to its’ ongoing governance. We passionately believe it is important that the governing body represents the community it serves and would therefore welcome nominations that will increase the diversity of our governors.

If you are interested in becoming a parent Governor, more information is available here: https://www.myattgarden.lewisham.sch.uk/welcome/vacancies/

Food Banks
As the costs of energy, fuel and food keep rising, the role of food banks has never been more important. Please see list below of those available locally:

The Lewisham Foodbanks: There are five locations across Lewisham, each open for two hours on one day each week. To get a referral, you should contact an organisation that you are in contact with like school, housing association, Citizens Advice, GP or faith organisation.
