Year 5 First Aid Training
During the training, the children learned:
-
How to carry out basic first aid, including how to help with burns, scalds, cuts, bleeding, choking, asthma attacks, and allergic reactions
-
That if someone has experienced a head injury, they should not be moved
-
When it is appropriate to use first aid and the importance of seeking help from a responsible adult
-
The importance of remaining calm in an emergency and giving clear information about what has happened to an adult or the emergency services
The session encouraged confidence, responsibility, and awareness, while reinforcing that children should never put themselves in danger and should always seek adult support.
At the end of the training, all children were presented with a certificate to recognise their participation and learning.
Please feel free to talk to your child about what they learned—they were very engaged and proud of their achievements.
